‘The Night (Waiting For)'. If we hadn't stopped, this track is how we would have sounded eleven years later most likely.
There was a time when we thought of recording some
material. We did rehearse for a while, and there was only the original line-up but for the singer. I felt an American or
English singer would have worked better on the music.
English was something better left to English this time.
So we sent out the demos to different singers. I was not
prepared to leave out all that had happened in between the line up changes. Seraphins En Pleurs was meant to pick up where we had left off and to bridge the gaps in between the worlds where different approaches on music would fit every shades of grey in the same wardrobe of tracks. The
progressive house influences on this are all there if that please you. And that's why the cassette reissues first, the web releases after, had quite a handful of different
“reinterpretations”. Or “remixes” if you like. It was done while the band was still a band. And it was re-done when the band was no more. With the same spirit. Interior Deus, Luigi's group, was no exception. I had recorded and mixed their demos and out of those sessions I felt I had interpreted that track like I would have done back when we were dreaming in violet.
Legend goes that their singer was supposed to be the one
singing on the new material. But it was not the right time anymore perhaps. So a new band was born out of the ashes that could not be anymore. And another one after that.
