‘Lust' came up out a collection of arpeggios and guitar-like riffs (in studio it had a proper second rhythmic bass track for that reason) toying with a background of different types of music. When I finally laid down the texture of the riffs I was not too sure it might have been something
“original" and asked a friend if the melody seemed anything
he might have heard on “Elizium" or “The Nephilim". He definitely had a face as blank as a vampire's mirror, which meant that it was none of what either he or the guitarist had been
listening for years, so that must have been ours.
It did sound like a punkish outtake by Fields Of The Nephilim though. A faster version of “Celebrate" perhaps. Oh well. Bits of that came from “Master Of Puppets” type of arpeggios both me and the singer had played to death as a matter of fact.
Just in case you might have ever noticed.
And that was intentional though it just doesn't show.
